BodyHealth PerfectAmino Tablets are coated essential amino acid tablets from BodyHealth, the Florida company behind the PerfectAmino range. This bottle holds 150 tablets, and each one carries 1 g of a fixed blend of eight essential amino acids. PerfectAmino is licensed for sale by Health Canada and bears NPN 80104616.

What's in BodyHealth PerfectAmino Tablets?

Essential amino acids are the nine amino acids the human body can't make, so they have to come from food or supplements. The Health Canada licence lists eight of them in each tablet. Leucine is the largest share at 196.4 mg, followed by valine at 165.7 mg, isoleucine at 148.3 mg and lysine at 142.9 mg. Phenylalanine, threonine, methionine and tryptophan make up the rest, for 1,000 mg in all. Leucine, valine and isoleucine are the three branched-chain amino acids, and together they account for 510.4 mg, just over half of every tablet.

The label adds histidine, the ninth essential amino acid, plus seven nucleic acid building blocks: uridine, adenosine triphosphate, thymidine, adenine and three deoxynucleosides. BodyHealth uses the same blend in its PerfectAmino powders and adds a small amount of it to several other products. Every ingredient and amount is listed under Ingredients.

Essential amino acids or protein powder?

Whey and plant protein powders supply whole protein, a mix of essential and non-essential amino acids joined together in long chains. PerfectAmino supplies only the essential ones, in free form, as single amino acids. PerfectAmino is meant to sit alongside your meals and any protein shake you already use, for people who want the essential amino acids on their own in a small, measured amount.

Why the coated tablets?

PerfectAmino comes as tablets or as a flavoured drink powder. Tablets make sense if you'd rather swallow a measured amount than mix a drink, or if you want something that lives in a gym bag or desk drawer. This bottle is the coated version, finished with NutraPure, which the label describes as a certified organic coating. BodyHealth also makes an uncoated tablet, which Vitasave doesn't stock at the moment. The label's suggested use is 5 tablets, 1 to 3 times a day, so a bottle holds 30 servings of 5.

The label calls the tablets a vegan supplement that is free of gluten, dairy and sugar, and paleo- and keto-friendly. They are made in a cGMP-certified facility for BodyHealth.com, LLC.

Who PerfectAmino Tablets suit

The Health Canada licence covers adults 18 and over. The tablets fit a regular weight or resistance training routine, and they suit vegan and plant-based diets because the amino acids aren't animal-sourced.
