Used in Herbal Medicine to help slow the progression of disorders of the eye, such as diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy, and macular degeneration.
What is bilberry?
Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) is a low shrub that grows wild across northern Europe. Its small, dark blue fruit is a close relative of the North American blueberry, but the flesh is coloured all the way through. That deep colour comes from anthocyanidins, the plant pigments this extract is standardized for.
