What is phosphatidylserine?

Phosphatidylserine, usually shortened to PS, is a phospholipid. Phospholipids are the fatty molecules that form the membranes around cells, and PS is present in particularly high amounts in the membranes of brain cells. Supplemental PS was once taken from soy; the PS in this product is made from the seeds of the sunflower (Helianthus annuus) instead.
