What are turmeric and bromelain?
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a relative of ginger whose bright orange rhizome is dried and ground as a spice. Its colour comes from curcuminoids, and the extract used here is concentrated until they make up 95% of it. Bromelain is a group of protein-digesting enzymes from the pineapple plant (Ananas comosus). It is taken from the stem, not the fruit, and its strength is measured in activity units: each capsule supplies 2,250,000 FCC PU.
