What is evening primrose oil?
Evening primrose is a yellow wildflower native to North America whose blooms open at dusk. Its small seeds are rich in oil, and that oil is unusual because it contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid found in few foods. Each softgel supplies 50 mg of GLA together with 360 mg of cis-linoleic acid, the main omega-6 in the diet.
