N,N-Dimethylglycine (DMG) is a methylated amino acid found in all cells. It 's an antioxidant with a number of benefits that include cholesterol control, protein synthesis, and antistress action.
Most recently, the positive effects it has on stamina have been recognized and exploited. The regular form of cellular respiration is aerobic, where in the presence of oxygen, glycogen stored in muscle is converted to energy. In the absence of adequate oxygen, the anaerobic shortcut that the body must take produces lactic acid that causes muscle fatigue. DMG helps the transport of oxygen into cells and subsequently improves stamina by reducing the need for anaerobic respiration.
