I only drink the mineralized water. I put a new water filter in every two months. It helps to keep my body alkaline which is particularly good if you have Osteoporosis or Osteopenia. There are sometimes small grains of the carbon in the water so you have to rinse the filter conscientiously for 5 minutes and then discard two tankfuls of water before the first use.
