Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae that grows in alkaline water and is commonly cultivated and harvested from open-air freshwater pools. It is an edible one-celled form of algae that contains iron and it has been growing on earth for over 3.5 billion years.
It has been enjoyed as a dietary supplement around the globe for centuries and has been traditionally incorporated into Mexican menus during the Aztec civilization.
Spirulina contains beta-carotene, which helps support healthy night vision and eye health. Additionally, Spirulina provides iron and protein that are essential to red blood cell production and muscle repair within the body.

While on the road travelling, taking it in pill form along with my other morning supplements is a great way to include it. Otherwise I use the powder form in my shakes. Great brand.
