What is bromelain?
Bromelain is a group of protein-splitting enzymes found in the pineapple plant, Ananas comosus. The bromelain in this product is taken from the stem, where the enzymes are most concentrated. Because bromelain is an enzyme, its strength is described by activity as well as weight: every gram of this extra strength material provides 1000 GDU (gelatin digesting units), which is equal to 1500 MCU (milk clotting units).
