This is a good supplement if your diet is generally low in bioavailable calcium, which may be an issue on a number of low-carb or elimination style diets, especially if you are avoiding dairy. It may also be useful to vegans who can often have a diet rich in calcium (on paper) but plant-based sources of calcium typically have poor bioavailablity, so the net effect is the same -- no enough calcium.
The other issue with calcium is it actually has very little to do with bone building and bone density - that's a myth that emerged out of allopathic medicine. And too much calcium can cause a whole bunch of problems as well.
So how do you know if you need calcium? Simple, if you are experiencing tetany, you are deficient, and could use one of these a day. Start with that amount and titrate upwards to 2 pills a day if the tetany hasn't subsided after 3 weeks. If you are experiencing any constipation, take it with 150mg of magnesium citrate so the ratio tilts slightly in favor of magnesium.
IMPORTANT: This product will neutralize stomach acid, and if you take it with a large, heavy, protein-based meal, especially if there is a lot of fiber present, you will get bloating and indigestion that could cause great pain and problems in your stomach and beyond. This product can alkalize a whole bolus of food making for a horrible digestive experience, potentially even leading to SIBO-like symptoms if done with more than one large protein meal daily, long term.
Try taking it first thing in the morning with your coffee or tea, a few hours before eating anything. Another idea is to take it mid-day with a 2-4 hour gap between meals, or several hours after dinner, just before bed.
A final note: Even mainstream Calcium RDAs are way too high, especially if you are eating a clean, healthy diet. Any recommendation that relies on a dietary pattern where you must eat to target calcium rich foods all day, every day and / or supplements to meet daily minimums is absurd. There's no culture in the written history of the human race, or anthropological record that ever consumed so much calcium. Forget what the gurus, influencers and their *ahem* "research" and "studies" tell you, and just aim for the minimum required or effective dose with ALL supplements. Supraphysiological doses are an expensive waste at best, and downright dangerous at the worst.
