3 Ingredient Frozen Banana Berry Soft Serve

Get ready: August 19th is National Soft Serve Ice Cream Day. But rather than heading to the good ol’ Golden Arches for a sugar-laden ice cream cone, you can make your own homemade healthy soft-serve in under 3 minutes, with only 3 ingredients. Best of all, it tastes so amazing your kids will even love it— and no ice cream maker is required. This Frozen Banana Berry Soft Serve contains several essential vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C and magnesium, which are two nutrients needed for immunity and stress support. This healthy soft serve recipe gets its natural flavour and sweetness from berries and bananas, with a protein boost from hemp hearts to help balance blood sugar levels. So, if you’re looking for an excuse to celebrate National Soft Serve Ice Cream Day this year, you may have found it with this 3 Ingredient Frozen Banana Berry Soft Serve.

Now, for the recipe:

Frozen Banana Berry Soft Serve (Makes 2 Generous Servings)

4 frozen bananas
¾ cup frozen berries of your choice (blueberries, cherries, raspberries, strawberries)
3 tbsp hemp hearts or hemp seeds, such as Inari Organic Shelled Hemp Seeds

Method:

Place all ingredients in high-speed blender, Vitamix or food processor and blend until smooth. Depending on how thawed or frozen the fruit you’re using is, you may want to add a few splashes of water or unsweetened nut milk to reach your desired “soft serve” consistency. The recipe has plenty of flavour as is, but you can top it with shredded coconut, extra berries and banana, walnuts, slivered almonds or other slices of seasonal fruit of your choice. Enjoy!
