Detox Naturally with Organika's Algae

Over the last few weeks, we have been inundated with questions from our customers about how to detox their bodies. Of course, as spring is the season of new beginnings, we also want our bodies to feel fresh and vibrant. Not everyone can safely participate in a full body detox program and that is okay. You can still achieve detox results by working with your body in a gentler way.

What is one of our favorite ways to detox? Simply adding blue-green algae into the diet. The most popular blue-green algae is called Spirulina. This is a type of algae that is used a lot in many of our favorite food bloggers smoothie and elixir recipes as it gives a beautiful, rich, green and blue color to the drinks. Spirulina's lesser known cousin is also a winner in our book, you may know it by the name Chlorella.

We use Chlorella in many of our Super Food smoothie recipes! Aside from the aesthetically pleasing aspects of these algae, they also contain amazing medicinal benefits. These richly colored algae contain a powerful nutrient called chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is found in all plants but is found in the highest forms in blue-green algae. Chlorophyll is known for its energy-giving attributes as well as its ability to cleanse the blood. When we consume blue-green algae we are helping to cleanse our blood from toxins and unwanted materials. This means that our detox organs like our liver, get some support to detox the body more efficiently. These are some of the top benefits of supplementing with blue-green algae:

  • weight loss
  • potential cancer fighter
  • inflammation and pain reducer
  • cholesterol lowering
  • heavy metal detox
We would recommend Organika's Chlorella or Spirulina to anyone who is wanting to improve their body's natural detoxification process. We have seen the best results for people who suffer with:
  • acne
  • eczema
  • low iron
  • low energy
  • body pain
  • inability to lose weight

When looking for a blue-green algae supplement, it is incredibly important that you know where the algae is being harvested as well as the quality of the surrounding water. This is because algae absorbs the toxins in its environment, so if it is grown in a polluted area then you will be consuming toxins along with your algae. This is why we trust Organika, they are committed to testing their algae consistently through the manufacturing process and the harvest from some of the most pristine areas of the world. If you have any questions about blue-green algae and if you should start including it in your health-routine, then give us a call or come into our storefront!
