What is algae DHA?
DHA, or docosahexaenoic acid, is a long-chain omega-3 fatty acid. Fish are the usual supplement source, but fish get their DHA by eating microalgae. Schizochytrium is one of the marine microalgae that produce it, and it can be grown in tanks without any fishing. The oil in each softgel provides 295 mg of total omega-3 fatty acids, almost all of it DHA, with 7 mg of EPA.
